Meet Our Staff

Sylvia Mansfield - Executive Director

Hi there, I'm Sylvia and I established the Brookline After School Program in 1994 after realizing that before and after-school care was my passion. The Brookline community welcomed me with open arms, and we have been in constant collaboration towards building a loving environment for students since. My mission is to provide consistent, quality, education, entertainment, and support to your children. I am still a firm believer that children need time to be children in a safe and loving environment that encourages independence.

JoAnn Maxwell - Program Administrative Assistant

Hello, I'm Jo-Ann. I have been working with children for nearly 3 decades now. I raised my own children and worked at the Waldorf school for many years. After many years of loving my work with children, I became credentialed as a teacher in a Waldorf-inspired childcare center. I love encouraging children to explore their personalities through the Arts, whether that be painting quietly or acting out a scene with me. Playtime in the woods is very important to me, as I believe children need to decompress with nature at the end of a school day.

Melissa Burgher - CSDA Site Director

Hi, I’m Melissa, and I am Assistant Site Director at CSDA. I have been working at the After School Program for 3 years. I enjoy teaching kids about the outdoors, arts and crafts, STEM, and so much more. My mission is to facilitate a comfortable space for kids to become more independent, learn, be supported, and participate in open ended play. Outside of work, I like to spend my time hiking and being in nature. I also enjoy jewelry making, watercolor, and anything crafty. I attend Nashua Community College and I am working towards my associates in Human Services. I look forward getting to know your kids and helping them grow this year!!

Christina Lanzone- Group Leader

Hello! My name is Christina and I am 17 years old, in my senior year of high school. I have been working here since I was coming out of my sophomore year the summer of 2022. I have always known I've wanted to work with kids since I was young. I have many younger cousins and have always found myself on “entertain the kids duty” during family gatherings.  ASP has been the perfect job for me to do after school, but next year I will be majoring in elementary education, hoping to get my master’s degree and start working as a teacher.

Lilly Bouchard- Group Assistant

Hi! My name is Lilly and I'm a group assistant! I enjoy spending my time interacting with the kids in any way! I went through the Brookline school system and about to graduate Hollis-Brookline High School in June. I am planning to continue the next 4 years of my education at University of Tampa for sports broadcast journalism. I played soccer all my life, I was on Varsity all 4 years of highschool and played for Seacoast United for club. I look forward to making a connection with each and every kid!

Connor Marsh- Group Assistant

Hi! I’m Connor, I’m an HB graduate, class of 2025! I’ve been working with Sylvia and the wonderful team at ASP since the beginning of my Senior year. I am a martial arts instructor who holds the title of Sensei after five years of teaching on the mat. In my time, I’ve trained hundreds of students of all ages to better themselves as athletes and as people. The shift to working in the afterschool program setting has been an exciting way to connect with students and parents on a more personal level, and be a bit less of a “drill instructor” and more of a caretaker and friend to the kids. ASP is my baby step into my projected career as an educator. I love working with these kids and getting to know them for the brilliant human beings that they are growing into. I hope that I make even a fraction of the same impact on them that they do on me.
